Dinner at Hotel Montecristo... what a treat!!!

We continue our journey alongside the ElbaMyLove.com bloggers who came to Elba for the Social Media Tour #myelbatour15, with their first encounter with Elban cuisine.... which took place at the new restaurant of the Hotel Montecristo in Marina di Campo.

The Hotel Montecristo - Montecristo Resort is a beautiful, newly refurbished four-star hotel. Fresh and bright, besides a splendid pool by the beach it now also boasts a new restaurant available to hotel guests. 

The new Manager Francesco Paternò welcomed the ElbaMyLove bloggers with great professionalism and exceptional attention to detail. As soon as we arrived at the hotel, he told us about the new management and the improvements made. Among the most notable features are the lighting, entirely LED with solar panels for a lower environmental impact, the pool fitted with new state-of-the-art equipment that produces chlorine through electrolysis without adding chemical chlorine, and the restaurant, which uses ingredients of the highest quality and, wherever possible, sourced locally.

While the bloggers were taking a few photos by the pool, the hotel bar prepared a truly original aperitif: crostini with Capoliveri red onion jam and wild fennel, accompanied by a cocktail made with myrtle, vodka and Elba lemons.

Once seated in the new dining room, Chef Alessandro Mirabelli and his brigade enchanted us with a series of fish courses that skilfully combined the traits of Elban tradition with the originality of modern fine dining. Here is the menu chosen for the evening:

STARTERS:

- Gazpacho with courgette flower in tempura

- A selection of surprises from the sea: pea cream cappuccino with octopus - fish balls in sauce - a trio of anchovies

FIRST COURSE:

- Spaghettoni with spider crab

MAIN COURSE:

- Livorno-style cacciucco.... revisited

DESSERT:

After this special menu came a very sweet finale... full of love: a wonderful (and delicious) cake shaped like the ELBAMYLOVE logo .... to celebrate all together!

Our blogger guests, coming from different parts of the world, were absolutely delighted and kept taking and publishing photos on their social channels, commenting very positively on the whole dinner, as you can see from the attached images.

We can therefore only thank and warmly congratulate the Manager, the Chef and all the Staff who welcomed us with such professionalism, offering us an outstanding example of hospitality on the Island of Elba. Thank you!
