Cookie Policy
Which cookies the portal uses, what they are for and how you decide what to allow. Non-technical cookies only start with your consent.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves in your browser to remember information, such as your language or the choices you made. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, work the same way: on this page we call them all "cookies".
There are technical cookies, which the site needs to work and which do not require consent, and non-technical cookies (statistics, marketing, external content), which we only use if you accept them.
How you choose, and how to change your mind
- On your first visit a banner asks you what to allow: Accept all, Reject or Customise, category by category.
- If you close the banner with the X, only technical cookies stay active.
- Scrolling or clicking elsewhere does not count as consent.
- Your choice lasts 6 months. We only ask again sooner if the cookies we use change.
- You can change your mind at any time from the "Cookie Preferences" link at the bottom of every page or with the button below. If you withdraw a consent, we delete the Google and Meta cookies stored on our domain and reload the page.
- We record each choice with the date, the version of this page, language, categories chosen and a random browser code, without your IP address: it is how we prove consent, as the GDPR requires.
Technical cookies
They are needed for the portal to work and do not require consent (Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code).

Statistics cookies
With Google Analytics 4 we learn how many people visit the pages, which channels they come from and what works best. We only see aggregate data, and Google Analytics 4 does not log IP addresses. Without your consent, Google's script is not even loaded.

External content
Some listings and news contain YouTube videos; the Ferries page contains the Traghettilines booking form (Misterferry in the English, German and French versions). These services set their own cookies, including profiling cookies. Until you allow this category, you see a box in their place with a button to load them.

Blocking or deleting cookies
You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings, usually in the "Privacy and security" section. YouTube, Google and Meta cookies stored on their own domains can only be deleted this way. If you block all cookies, some features of the portal, such as the language and favourites, may not work.
