Frequently asked questions

Are map markers clickable?
Yes. Each marker opens a popup with name, town, type and (when available) a link to the dedicated page. Numbered clusters tell you how many points are grouped: zoom-in to break the cluster.
Can I filter points by name or town?
Yes. Use the search bar at the top of the layer panel: search by name of beach or attraction, or by town name (e.g. "Capoliveri") to see only points in that area.
Are beach and attraction data up to date?
Yes, they are loaded from the same archive that feeds the Beaches and Places pages. When we update the archive, the map markers update automatically at next cache refresh (within 30 minutes).
Can I use the map offline during my holiday?
This interactive map requires connection. For offline use we recommend downloading the PDFs in the dedicated section, or using apps like Maps.me, Komoot or Wikiloc that allow offline download.
Will trails be downloadable in GPX?
Yes, it is planned. For each Elba CAI trail we will publish the GPX track and elevation profile. We will use OpenStreetMap data (Elba trail network) as the main source.
Why not just use Google Maps?
Google Maps is generalist. Here you find a curated selection of only touristically interesting Elba points, with dedicated layers and cards linking to our site content. It's faster to find what you need.
