What Fetovaia Beach is like
Fetovaia opens onto the south-western side of Elba, about 10 km from Marina di Campo along provincial road 25. The bay is closed to the west by Punta Fetovaia, a granite headland covered in Mediterranean scrub, and behind by Monte Cenno: this double shelter makes it one of the most protected beaches on the island. The granite sand is very fine, with small dunes further back; the seabed slopes very gently and the clear water shades from turquoise to blue, which makes it an easy choice with children. In 2026 Skyscanner ranked it first among the most beautiful beaches in Italy.
Getting there
From provincial road 25 a short turn-off of about one kilometre leads down to the beach. You can also get here by bus. The car park behind the beach fills up early in high season, so it is worth arriving in the morning.
Which wind to go with
The only wind that really spoils it is the sirocco. With the mistral, the libeccio (south-west wind), the west wind and the tramontana (north wind) the sea here stays calm.
Facilities and tips
Free stretches of sand sit alongside beach clubs with bars, restaurants and rental of umbrellas, pedal boats, canoes and SUPs. One beach club is equipped for visitors with disabilities, with a walkway and a beach wheelchair. You can snorkel along the rocks on either side, and in recent years sea turtles have nested on the sand: if you find a fenced-off area, it is a nest to be left alone.
