Hotels on Elba’s west side: this is the municipality of Marciana, the part of the island dominated by Monte Capanne, with hill villages such as Marciana and Poggio and a granite coastline running from Procchio to Sant’Andrea and on to Chiessi and Pomonte, facing Corsica. It is the quietest and most nature-focused area of the island, with hiking trails, the cable car to the summit and sunsets over the sea. It is also the furthest from Portoferraio port: Marciana village is about 35 minutes’ drive.
