Where to stay in the municipality of Marciana? This is western Elba, around Monte Capanne (1,019 m), the highest peak in the Tuscan Archipelago. The village of Marciana lies on the hillside at 375 metres; most hotels are on the coast: Procchio and Spartaia on the bay to the north, Sant’Andrea and Colle d’Orano to the north-west, Chiessi and Pomonte on the west coast, facing Corsica. It is the area for granite rocks by the sea, hiking trails and the cable car up to the summit of Monte Capanne. Marciana village is about 35 minutes’ drive from Portoferraio.
