The story of Acqua dell'Elba begins with an impossible idea, almost a madness: creating a perfume manufacture on the Island of Elba, in a sector controlled by a handful of multinationals. It was the end of the 1990s; without too many calculations, the three founding partners cast off and set out on this long journey… Fate brought them before the Scoglio della Paolina, where a refined ivory statuette was found in the hold of a 2nd-century AD sailing ship: it was the stopper that sealed a precious essence, and it was the message that came from the sea.
Today Acqua dell'Elba is a family business made up of Fabio Murzi, Chiara Murzi and Marco Turoni. Together they create the fragrances and run a company that now has 19 single-brand shops on the Island of Elba, joined by the shops recently opened in Rome in Via Frattina, in Florence in Via dei Calzaiuoli, and then in Siena, Venice, Como and Lucca, as well as the 550 quality perfumeries that carry the products of the Elban manufacturer across Italy.
The secret of Acqua dell'Elba is held in every single item: beyond the quality of the raw materials there is the care of the craftsmanship. It is artisan work, with all its passion and wisdom, based on the work of the hand. In Marciana Marina are the headquarters and the workshops where excellence has always been cultivated, inspired by the centuries-old tradition of the Renaissance workshop.
And this is how Acqua dell'Elba appears today: an artisan workshop of the third millennium, continually searching for new ideas within the furrow of tradition; reflecting the island setting of the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, with the enchantment of the landscape, art, culture and simple ways of living in contact with nature.
Acqua dell'Elba has always offered opportunities for growth through artistic, social and cultural initiatives. It has always been attentive to the enhancement of the environmental heritage, with a strong commitment to long-term projects.
This is how the "Via dell'Essenza" was born: the project to create the coastal path of the Island of Elba. 130 kilometres of trails divided into 12 stages, designed to give back to the Island of Elba, to Tuscany and to the whole world the island and its true essence. The "Via dell'Essenza" reflects the deepest values of Acqua dell'Elba; a commitment made in the belief that raising the standard of living of Elbans, of their guests and – more generally – of every human being passes through careful care and enhancement of the environmental heritage.
On the Via dei Rosmarini path in particular you can admire the blossoms of the island and of the Tuscan Archipelago and be intoxicated by their fragrances. Here we find the typical native essences from which Acqua dell'Elba draws inspiration for the creation of its fragrances.
As well as the four perfume lines (Classica, Arcipelago, Blu and Bimbi), alongside which come the Bath and Shower Gel, Body Cream, Aftershave, Deodorant and Moisturising Soap, Acqua dell'Elba offers a much-appreciated Home line with Room Fragrances and candles, a Textiles line and a Travel line.
