What Redinoce Beach is like
Redinoce lies on Elba's north coast, between Procchio and Marciana Marina, in a small cove facing north-north-east with a view of the Enfola headland. The beach is mostly gravel and pebbles, with a patch of fine sand laid out in the serviced area; just offshore rises the Paolina rock, which gives its name to the neighbouring cove. The free stretch is roughly a hundred metres long.
Getting there
From Procchio, follow the provincial road towards Marciana Marina: after a few kilometres you reach the turn-off for a dirt track that runs down about 300 metres to the sea, with a handful of parking spaces along the way. A second, shorter access starts from the Le Sprizze area, where there is a panoramic car park; either way the last part is a short footpath, partly shaded.
Which wind to go with
Because it opens to the north and north-east, Redinoce is at its best with sirocco, southerly winds and libeccio (south-west wind), when the north coast is sheltered and the water stays flat. With the tramontana (north wind) or a north-easterly, the waves roll straight onto the shore.
Facilities and tips
There is a beach club with umbrellas and sunbeds, a bar and a restaurant, plus canoe, kayak and SUP hire; a small jetty lets boats tie up. Snorkellers can follow the shoreline out to the Paolina rock, but keep an eye out: boat traffic is heavy in summer. The pebbly bottom makes water shoes a good idea.
