Hotel Biodola

Hotel Biodola is a 4-star hotel in the middle of Biodola Bay, in the municipality of Portoferraio, right on the fine white-sand beach among the tamarisks.

Beach and pool

On the private beach every guest has a reserved sunshade and two loungers. The beach club has facilities and hot showers, and a lifeguard is always on duty. In the garden is the large saltwater pool, reserved for guests and looking out over the bay; next to it is a wellness area with a heated jacuzzi, sauna and Turkish bath, plus a children's pool.

Sport

The hotel has nine clay tennis courts and a large Mediterranean garden. Guests can take windsurfing, sailing and swimming lessons and play at the 9-hole golf club with driving range.

Restaurants

The cooking draws on Tuscan flavours and the Italian tradition: fresh fish and shellfish, selected meat, seasonal vegetables and desserts made by the hotel's pastry chef. There are two restaurants:

• Main restaurant: a glass-walled dining room facing the sea, open in the evening, with a cheese buffet, starters, pasta, main courses and sides, and a well-stocked wine cellar.
• Maitè: right in front of the beach, open-air, at lunchtime, serving light dishes, mostly fish, and salads. In summer, one evening a week, half-board guests are treated to a Tuscan night with cured meats, local cheeses, traditional desserts and meats grilled in front of them.

Rooms and families

The rooms and suites have light Tuscan-style wooden furniture and soft colours. Sea-view rooms come with a private balcony with table and chairs; for families there are sea-view rooms with two extra beds or connecting rooms with two bedrooms. In season the kids' club runs daily activities, from tennis matches to treasure hunts, and the restaurants have children's menus.

Meetings

The conference centre has 6 meeting rooms with natural light, suitable for small meetings and large events, with multilingual staff and technicians for tailor-made set-ups.
