"Il boss è immortale" (The Boss Is Immortal) is the new book by journalist and writer Massimo Nava, which will be presented on Friday 20 July at 9.30 p.m. in Marina di Campo, in Piazza da Verrazzano. The evening will be hosted by his colleague Michela Gargiulo.
The Corriere della Sera columnist, formerly Paris correspondent and special envoy in war zones, once again takes on a story charged with mystery whose protagonist is inspector Bernard Bastianì, the French policeman of Italian origin already at work in his first novel.
This time the story, a thriller full of twists, takes the Interpol inspector, who specialises in the recovery of works of art, to Naples. In the Neapolitan city he will have to investigate a mysterious theft intertwined with the story of a kidnapping: he must recover a very particular work of art stolen from the Sansevero Chapel and work out where Lisa Miller has been shut away – a young student, stepdaughter of a descendant of the House of the Princes of Sansevero, abducted outside the Federico II university. The story born from Massimo Nava's pen is mysterious and magical, and its absolute protagonist is the city of Naples with its decadent beauty, dense with unpredictable entanglements. Inspector Bastianì will not be alone in investigating the mysteries lurking in the city's underworld. With him will be Carabinieri colonel Gagliano, and together they will uncover the intrigues of a story with disturbing contours, where the camorra intertwines with freemasonry, and magic with superstition.
The evening has been organised by the Municipality of Campo nell'Elba and the "Balestrini Gentini" municipal library, and will be the ideal evening to talk also about current affairs, publishing and journalism.
This initiative is also made possible with the collaboration of Ristorante Kontiki and Libreria Del Porto
