Hotel Hermitage – 5-star hotel on Biodola beach, Island of Elba

Hotel Hermitage is a 5-star hotel overlooking Biodola Bay, in the municipality of Portoferraio, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. From the rooms you walk straight down to the equipped private beach of fine sand, with the clear water of the bay in front of you.

Behind the hotel lies its own 9-hole golf course; on site there are three seawater pools, a wellness centre, four restaurants and three bars.

Private beach and seawater pools

Besides the beach, guests can use three pools filled with seawater:

• Main pool, below the hotel's central building
• Caribbean pool, with a swim-up bar and daily aqua-gym classes
• Hydromassage pool, with a sea view

Four restaurants and three American bars

The kitchen works with seasonal ingredients, sourced locally and from nearby producers whenever possible. Gluten-free and vegetarian menus are available on request.

• Ristorante Hermitage: a dining room with a terrace over the bay, different meat and fish dishes every evening and Tuscan wines
• Fuoco di Bosco: light Mediterranean dishes, pizzas and grills by the pool at lunchtime, including vegetarian and gluten-free options; on Saturday evenings, half-board guests enjoy live music and a meat and fish barbecue
• Ghiotta: an open-air terrace a few steps from the sea, looking out over the bay
• Peter Pan: the children's restaurant, open for lunch and dinner with its own staff and theme nights such as pizza and burger parties

Golf Club Hermitage

The 9-hole golf course lies behind the hotel, among the Mediterranean vegetation, with views over Biodola Bay, Scaglieri and the island of Capraia. All holes are par 3 except one par 4, and the course is CONI-approved.

Sport and wellness centre

For active guests there are tennis courts, a gym and, at sea, sailing, windsurfing and diving. The wellness centre and spa offers:

Weddings and meetings

For weddings the hotel has a small chapel in its Mediterranean garden, poolside parties and sea-view suites for the wedding night. For business events there are 4 meeting rooms with natural light for up to 400 people, overlooking the garden or the sea; two more rooms are available on request at its sister hotel, Hotel del Golfo in Procchio.
