ElbaBrick
The activity
Welcome to ElbaBrick, an exhibition dedicated to imagination, children and the golden age of LEGO® bricks: in Marina di Campo, hosted in the former Elba Aquarium building, a permanent show that tells the story of sixty years of building and creative play.
A journey through the history of bricks
The exhibition is a journey into the history of the world's most famous building blocks: it starts with the first bricks and arrives, at the end of the 1970s, at the launch of the first minifigures — the funny little figures with yellow heads and hands that changed forever the way we play.
The explosion of the 1980s and 1990s
The show offers a complete overview of the evolution through the '80s and '90s, with the birth of countless themed sets:
- from space to the wild west;
- from series for the youngest to those for older children;
- up to lines designed for adult fans.
Through a child's eyes
Our exhibition is imagined through the eyes of a child who, at the end of last century, rediscovers an immense collection put together by older brothers and cousins: the original sets are displayed and mixed together, and from the leftover pieces emerge plenty of original creations — a true celebration of creativity and imagination.
The LEGO® world today
At the end of the journey, the world of bricks as it is today: thousands of different pieces in dozens of colour shades, and the chance — for the most talented builders — to design and craft incredible original works like those of our friend Antonio Mortola.
