MARINA DI CAMPO and TURTLES… such a great feeling!
A sea turtle chooses the big beach of Marina di Campo to lay her eggs ... and it is immediately great love!
Like so many tourists, turtles also choose the beautiful and big beach of Marina di Campo to come and lay their eggs.
This is the sweetest news this morning when at 5.00 a night watchman in his check-in between the facilities of SERGIO and PAGLICCE BEACH, right at the center of the wide bay of Marina di Campo, noted a large sea turtle that seemed to have just laid the eggs. The owner , RICCARDO SEGNINI, immediately contacted the Acquario dell’Elba and walked immediately on the spot. The Aquarius informed the Coast Guard and the Tuscany Region. In a few hours the news has gone through the island and there is also the crew of MARELIBERO, the official partner association of the Tuscan Observatory for Biodiversity and Cetaceans.
Simona Formante, of Marelibero, has landed from NOPROBLEM (a boat with which works are carried out throughout the Tuscan Archipelago) and made reliefs and took photographs to the site for the Tuscany Region.
"Our comment to this event is very positive for two reasons: on one hand, after 40-50 years turtles now come back to nest on our shores. The second is for the great readiness and sensitivity of all the subjects involved, who have protected the site demonstrating a sincere affection for the sea and its creatures."
