Their distribution mirrors the island itself. Most are in Campo nell’Elba — Marina di Campo, Cavoli, Seccheto, Fetovaia — followed by Marciana with Sant’Andrea and Pomonte, then Capoliveri and the towns of Portoferraio, Marciana Marina and Porto Azzurro. Most hotels sit within three hundred metres of a beach: every listing states the declared distance from the sea, the position on the map and the facilities actually available.
How contact works. There is no booking engine and no middleman: every listing carries the hotel’s phone number, WhatsApp and e-mail. You write or call the owner directly, ask for availability and a price for your dates, and deal with no commission in between. It is the quickest way to find out whether a place really suits you, and often the way to get better terms than on the large portals.
If you have not chosen an area yet, start from when you are coming: in July and August the quieter villages on the western side are worth a look, while in spring and September Portoferraio and Capoliveri stay convenient for getting around.
