MARELBA 2017: 11th edition of activities related to the sea

PORTOFERRAIO - This year, from 22nd to 26th June, the Marelba event will be repeated, always with the dual aspect of the initiatives for the disabled pleople (ICARO project) and the sporting events properly mentioned.

There will be plenty of news this year, to further enhance this event, which has now come to the 11th consecutive year.

On the one hand, disabled people, while continuing to have some initiative dedicated specifically to them, will be invited to participate, each according to their own possibilities, also for the initiatives planned for others (fishing, swimming, sailing, demonstration Rescue at sea with cannon drive). This is in view of the greater integration of these our friends. This will also be favored by the fact that this year the guest group of disabled children will be the EFESTO group of Rosignano, part of the Special Olympics for a long time, games that have this philosophy as a driving principle.

In addition, the traditional appointment of the swimming championship will see the participation of delegates from all the Elban municipalities that will participate, so as to make it a true Palio Natatorium of the various parts of the Island. This is to make this event even more like a choral event of the whole island.

There will be many sports and activities related to the sea: fishing competitions, beach volleyball, swimming races, sailing races, sea rescue demonstrations ... and this year also costume space and to history with historical recollections and archery.
