The #myelbatour15 bloggers head home…. in love with Elba!!!

The four-day tour organised by Elbamylove.com came to an end on Sunday afternoon
The first Elbamylove.com Social Media Tour, organised in partnership with Tuscany Buzz, has just ended, and the first results are truly excellent. What is more, its benefits will keep coming in over the next few weeks.
"The goal of the project - says Federica Berselli, Head of Marketing and Communication at Elbamylove.com - is to promote the new portal, but even more to promote the Island of Elba to the Italian and foreign visitors who reach Florence and Pisa all year round. And so, together with our sponsors Acqua dell'Elba – Baia Bianca Suites – Blu Navy, and with the hoteliers and restaurateurs who supported us, we tried to make our bloggers fall in love with Elba; many of them had already heard about it, without ever having had the chance to visit."
The first figures are already outstanding: 7 bloggers generated a volume of over 1,140 tweets (on the Twitter channel alone) and published around 200 photos on Instagram. The data from the other social networks will reach us over the next few days, but the statistics tell us that so far we have had a reach of over 238,000 and an exposure of more than 2,312,000 impressions. This last result in particular is really very positive: last year, when we ran #Napoleone200 with 32 igers as guests, the impressions on Twitter were 2.2 million.
The #myelbatour bloggers published wonderful images and comments, in English, Dutch and Italian… which were retweeted, reposted and appreciated by thousands of users, and which are still only the starter before the blog posts each of them will write about the whole experience.
The programme, carefully designed by Elbamylove, brought them close to the most typical and special aspects of a "shoulder season" holiday on the island: no beach, but hiking, e-mountain bike rides, visits to open-air museums (such as the granite quarries of San Piero) and to the ancient villages.
All of it seasoned with exceptional attention to detail: from the extremely kind and warm hospitality of the hotels to the refinement of the cuisine, which took them on a real tour of taste. They tasted the most rustic recipes based on grandmother's minestrone and wild boar, and enjoyed delicious menus with spectacular finger food, right through to fish dishes by great chefs accompanied by excellent wines from the local wineries.
And so, among their first reactions, they told us:
"Four incredibly beautiful days. Without any doubt it was the best blogtour I have ever taken part in... bloggers are generally seen only as a means to an end. You pampered us from beginning to end!" Alessandro Marazia of Blog100days
"I already miss Elba and I want to thank you again for the tour and for all the work you did for us." Georgette Jupe of Girl In Florence
And so, when the time came to leave… on top of that with a day of Caribbean-coloured sea… it was only natural to feel deep regret at leaving this small great island… which in a few days managed to make them fall in love with it.
Over the coming days on www.elbamylove.com we will go back over the various moments of the tour together, showing the finest photos taken by the participants. Follow us!
NOTES:
- Reach is the number of unique individuals or accounts that had the chance to see a given social object. It is a net figure, in the sense that it counts the person and not the number of times they saw the content, perhaps from several devices.
- Impression is the number of times a given social object (post, tweet, photo, video) had the chance to be seen by a given audience.
