Also this year returns to Elba "Clean Beaches and Sea" :Sunday, May 28th in Marina di Campo. As in other locations in Italy, LEGAMBIENTE organizes an afternoon of respect for and protection of the environment, with an initiative open to everyone to save marine biodiversity: beach and backwater cleaning!

After the meeting in Piazza Giovanni da Verrazzano (port area), participants and volunteers will take a quiet walk about 20 minutes to Galenzana, where - organized by Legambiente Tuscany Archipelago's Staff - will work to clean the beaches of Salandri and Galenzana. After the snack you will return to Marina di Campo. Bring gloves, cap and closed shoes.

This year, the twenty-third edition of the event is part of Clean Sea Life, the project realized with the support of the European Union, which is carrying out sea monitoring and cleaning activities, together with citizens in ​​all Italy.

"To stimulate prevention, raising awareness and information campaigns across the country for all citizens is fundamental" explains Maria Frangioni, President of the Legambiente Archipelago of Tuscany, "This is crucial to achieve proper waste management and an active participation by citizenship to protect the sea and environment. That is why we have been organizing the Clean up the Med campaign since 1995, which includes associations, schools and local institutions of 14 countries, with the aim not only of cleaning but above all of spreading a new sensibility and a new civic sense. "
