ELBAnewsLETTER - ELBA's PROTION ABROAD: Vienna - St. Gallen - Zurich

Continues the great commitment of the Hoteliers Association to promote the Island of Elba, in particular abroad. In January, the appointments were in Vienna, St. Gallen and Zurich.

January 12th to 15th VIENNA - AUSTRIA - Also this year the Hotel Association of the Island of Elba was present with its own stand at the "Ferien Messe" in Vienna, tourism promotion fair among the most important in Europe which includes works by numerous exhibitors representing European countries and beyond. Elba, as on other occasions, has had a great success: the Austrian market is very lively and interested in our locality. Its marked last year had an increase of 7% compared to the previous one. This trend and recorded demands during the event confirm the need and importance of continuing investments in the Austrian market. Great was also the interest shown by  journalists of important tourist. The tasting of typical products such as Elba's wines in our stand, local specialties and evend the "Octopus all'Elbana" have obtained a high popularity among this international audience. The appreciation of food and wine along with the variety on offer that Elba presents, from nature to sport, from the beaches to geology, from history to archeology, show  and increasingly great interest in our island.

January 20th to 22nd ST GALLEN - SWITZERLAND - St. Gallen trade fair is becoming increasingly important for several reasons: firstly because this canton is among the wealthiest in Switzerland and there are many travelers who come from this area. Second, participation in a fair in this part of Switzerland is economically less expensive. This year the fair has also been expanded to accommodate 440 exhibitors, coming from all over the world, showing the increasing development of this appointment.

For Italians exhibitors this year and was created a special area called the Piazzetta Italy, where they were grouped most of Italian companies. The Island of Elba and information materials were distributed in important measure because the island has always been a very popular and sought-after destination. Those who already knew Elba came to the stand of Hoteliers to see news and enjoy our products. Potential new visitors were shown the beautiful DVDs images projected on the screen and told face to face the 'uniqueness of Elba destination by the staff present.

January 26th to 29th ZURICH - SWITZERLAND - From 26th to 29th January 2017 was held in Switzerland Fespo, the tourism fair in Zurich and the Hotel Association of the Island of Elba was also present here, given the importance of this call for La Pila airport. The recent agreement with Sky Work - that will cover Elba-Zurich line in 2017 - would make it possible to recover part of the admissions lost in 2016 when Elba remained without this important air link. Switzerland represents for Elba Island an extraordinary market to maintain and expand, the second largest market in absolute terms, the first in proportion. The intense activities of the Association Hoteliers Elbe in foreign markets continues with other important events in February at Prague fairs, Monaco of Bavaria and other prestigious events.
