ELBAnewsLETTER - PROMOTION OF THE ISLAND OF ELBA: EXHIBITIONS AND CAMPAIGNS FOR THE LOW SEASON

Among the main activities of the HOTELS ASSOCIATION there is undoubtedly the promotion of the Island of Elba, its beauty and hospitality applications. Like every year, therefore, the Association is engaged in a long series of selected events both in Italy and abroad.

Among the latter, there have been the presence at WORLD TRAVEL MARKET London (6th to 8th November 2016) which saw the presence of 50,000 professionals in the travel industry and international tourism. From 10th to 13th November it was the turn of FAIR HORSE in Verona: the largest international showcase for the business trade industry, with visitors and exhibitors from over 85 countries.

From November 24th to 26th the appointment was in Warsaw to TTWarsaw: one of the most important and prestigious fairs in the tourism sector in Poland. Italy was well represented with stands of regions such as Sardinia, Sicily, Calabria, Friuli, Trentino and Emilia Romagna. The Polish TV also gave Elba space with an interview in which personally participated the Vice-President of the Association Alessandro Gentini.

From 6th to 8th December, finally, the Hotel Association was present at 'ILTM Cannes: l' International Luxury Travel Market (ILTM) is the main event for the business-to-business industry for luxury travel and It constitutes a global platform in the travel industry elite.

Participation in trade fairs is one of the tried and tested communication tool, and in the selection the Association ranges from locations where the target is very exclusive, to other mid-level, having to be supportive to the receptivity of all shareholders from 5 stars hotels to campsitea. But the novelty is that in recent years they are recording interesting successes coming from fairs of "niche", not necessarily dedicated to travel and tourism. This is because in major events to promote tourism operators, national and international, are too many and equipped with very powerful means. In other opportunities to meet, however, it is easier to attract public attention on the Island of Elba with a better return on image and reservations.

- SPECIAL CAMPAIGNS -

In addition to attendance at fairs, another tool used by the Hoteliers to stimulate the turnout on the island is the launch of special promotions and discounts related to special moments. And 'the case of the month of May 2017. Looking at the calendar it is clear that it will be a month very "quiet" from the point of view of national holidays, as Pentecost (the traditional holiday period for Swiss and German tourists) it falls in the first days of June. For this reason, in addition to pushing because sporting events and cultural events are held in May, the Association announces a super promotion with particularly advantageous ferry packages + stay.
