ELBAnewsLETTER - 2016: A POSITIVE YEAR FOR TOURISM STATISTICS ON THE ISLAND OF ELBA

At the last shareholders' meeting, the Hotel Association presented the results of 2016 season, which ended with an increase in attendance on the island with a scissors between + 3% and + 5%. A very positive year, so, although we had a May and June rather subdued, offset by the end of the season rather very good.

There are several factors that led to these results: certainly the international situation, with a number of countries characterized by great uncertainty and risk for foreign guests. This has contributed to "rediscover" many Italian places, such as Elba.

The weather also particularly nice and warm, favored the choice of holiday resort on the sea or on the coast.

Third factor, no less important, was the intense activity of promotion in Italy and abroad carried out by the Hotel Association in winter 2015-2016 and communication activities by the Associated Tourism Management on the media.
