Great success for the 1st Marathon and Half Marathon of the Island of Elba ... sport wins!

More than 1,100 participants in the first edition of this sporting event ... a great success for the organizers and all the Island of Elba!

Took place on 8th May the 1st Marathon and Half Marathon on Elba Island organized with great commitment from 'A.S.D. Elba Runners in particular in the person of President Damiano di Cicco and Luciana Giovani Secretary.

It was undoubtedly a beautiful day of sport and fun for all fans of the sport. After the departure from Procchio, marathon runners headed towards Marina di Campo and then along the western ring road to Seccheto (path of the Half Marathon 21.097) and onwards to Chiessi (Marathon route 42.195 km). The climate of the day was ideal and, despite the fatigue, all came good at the finish line.

In parallel to the race, he was also organized, and has enjoyed similar success, a non-competitive route Nordic Walking for walking enthusiasts in nature. A large group of participants, accompanied by more guides, walked for about 11 km from Procchio to Marina di Campo, passing some mid-level paths and showing the beauty of the Island of Elba to so many guests came on the occasion of the marathon as leaders of one or more athletes.

The lovely town of Marina di Campo, for the occasion, was dressed tfor the best: balloons and red runner welcomed the arrival athletes in the great square of the town hall. Lunch together, music, a small expo, interviews and so many awards .... This is the program of the afternoon, awaiting the arrival of all the magic moment of the award.
