CULINARIE OF THE WESTERN ELBA ... with the Italian Academy of Cuisine and Alvaro Claudi

Monday, November 26 at 17:00 resumed collaboration between the Municipal Library of Marina di Campo. and the Italian Academy of Cooking that with chef Alvaro Claudi will present a new series of meetings.

This year the meetings will revolve around the rediscovery of the ancient culinary traditions of western Elba. It will be the occasion for a field research, with privileged guests and witnesses of a history and a culture that we are risking to lose. Thanks to the commitment of the Elba delegation of the Italian Academy of Cooking and with the expert guidance of the master Alvaro Claudi we will try to bring back forgotten dishes (maybe tasting them !!!), stories unknown to most, far-off customs ... and then keep them alive in the kitchen!

In a period in which the tourist searches for experiences and emotions linked to his holiday, food and wine is the element of "contact" that is perhaps more effective. For this reason more and more figures, from the Italian Academy of Cuisine to the numerous chefs on Elba, are working to recover the local traditions and ancient flavors. Today this rediscovery starts not only from the written documentation, but also from the stories of the "grandmothers" of the "old ladies" of the island that besides being able to cook, tell stories related to the dishes and customs of past decades.

It starts Monday 26 in the Library with: Christmas dishes in the table of yesteryear.
