AIRPORT THE PILA: an invasion of airplanes on Elba Island for the Zingarata

On Saturday, May 19, in La Pila Airport on the Island of Elba took place the second edition of "LA ZINGARATA", an event dedicated to private aircraft pilots, to present the news of the track and more.
In a wonderful day with already summer temperatures, thanks to the brilliant organization carried out by Lamberto Ferrini of FlyToElba, the airplanes arrived were more than 80, even exceeding the forecasts, for a total of over 200 people.
The program included the arrival in the morning (although some had already landed on Friday evening), the opportunity to visit Marina di Campo in freedom, and then find themselves in the area of the MACH 1 of the Airport for a rich lunch of fish , local specialties accompanied by the great hospitality of the staff.
The event wanted to be a first opportunity to inaugurate and present the new track, the parking lots and the hangars (which will soon be 8) to friends and sports associations of the flight. Among the participants, also some members of "Piloti Di Classe" the Amateur Sports Association that on Facebook has almost 7,500 registered flight lovers and .... good food with friends.
"We are thrilled to have brought so many planes back to our small airport, as it has not been for more than 20 years! - comments the organizer Lamberto Ferrini. - On this occasion we met wonderful people that we will surely meet again during the summer season! A special thanks goes to the engineer Claudio Boccardo, CEO of Alatoscana who allowed this event to take place and to all the guys at Elba Airport who worked miracles to find a place for each aircraft, considering the capacity still limited due to the works still in progress. Thanks again to the staff of Mach 1 who hosted us as always with great willingness and prepared excellent dishes. "
After the lunch, the aircraft started to return while some guests chose to stop for one more night, demonstrating to appreciate the Island of Elba and its hospitality. The appointment with the Zingarata is for 2019, but Fly To Elba invites you to follow them for the next projects and new initiatives!
