AQUA FILM FESTIVAL: When Water and Cinema give birth to a single great project
ELEONORA VALLONE brings to Elba Island the second edition of AQUA FILM FESTIVAL, an international event of cinema, meetings and workshops focused on the theme of water, with many famous actors and directors as guests.
The second edition of this international event has just started on Elba Island, organized by Eleonora Vallone for the first time. Federica Berselli of Elbamylove meets her designer at the sunset, on the terrace of the beautiful Hotel Hermitage at Biodola. Actress, journalist, methodologist in the water and woman of great charm, Eleonora Vallone tells us how Elba Island is a wonderful scenery for her AQUA FILM FESTIVAL.
"I love sea, all islands and Tuscany .... And when I was proposed by Acqua dell’Elba to hold the second edition of the festival on Elba Island, the idea seemed beautiful to me," - Ms. Vallone tells us - "The welcome we received was excellent: the President of the Association of Hoteliers Massimo De Ferrari and the City of Portoferraio, in the position of Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Culture Roberto Marini, immediately realized the importance of our project and supported me with great effort, allowing us to do something really special. "
The program develops for 4 days between meetings, competitions, workshops and screenings with the presence of great guests including actors and directors such as Sara Serraiocco, Filippo Scichitano, Sebastiano Somma, Cinzia Th. Torrini, Caterina D'Amico, Antonietta De Lillo , Valentina Carnelutti and Claudia Cipriani Among Jérôme Salle's screened films "Odyssèè" with Lambert Wilson and Audrey Tautou on Jacques-Yves Cousteau's life.
"Nature, history, attention to cultural innovations make this island a hometown by vocation, where the rhythm is suspended between water and sky, between modernity and tradition... we are convinced that it will knowingly accompany the imaginary imagery of films, documentaries and encounters that animate the kermesse. "
But how was this great love for water born? "When I was very young I often went fishing with my father and I really liked it. Growing then I became very sporty and when, after a serious accident in the 1980s, I was forced to do a lot of rehabilitation in the water ... I thought I would bring in the water the sports I loved most and slowly I'm "reborn ". From this I also created an international approach - recognized by the CONI - composed of 3,000 different exercises which in the following years I taught other instructors, such as Silvia Meiattini, who is here on Elba with me. "
And the idea of joining water and cinema? "I am a communicator and cinema has always been within me. Seven years ago I thought of joining these two great passions and, after so much effort, I created the AQUA FILM FESTIVAL project. There are many points in common between these two elements: water is the origin of life and flows ... Cinema tells us about our flowing life. And then, as the Lumiere Brothers said, "film runs like water."
