ELBAnewsLETTER - TOURISM ON TWO WHEELS … STARTS FROM EUROBIKE

During 2016, the Hotel Association od Elba Island, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce of Livorno, attended Eurobike in Friedrichshafen (Germany), the leading international fair in the bicycle industry.

The world of biking on Elba in recent seasons is growing in a very interesting way and in the right direction of the much desired "seasonal adjustment". There are several factors that are contributing to this result: in the foreground the fact that the municipalities (especially on the eastern side of the island) are gearing with dedicated paths, reopening old abandoned routes, or by securing other areas, with the approval the Tuscan Archipelago National Park. Added to this is that more and more accommodation facilities have taken the opportunity to offer new ad hoc services (technical assistance, environments and specialized personnel) and entered into circuits intended for these sports enthusiasts. It' s important, however, to emphasize that the promotion to the biking world is useful to all types of facilities, it is an absolutely "transversal tourism", interested in contacting for the stay at the camp site, the apartment hotel to five stars, depending on the available budget.

In this perspective, the Hotel Association is working actively to promote the organization of a stage of the Italian Bike Tour Giro on Elba in 2018: an event of this importance will elevate the entire territory in consideration of bike enthusiasts and it would certainly further boost to tourism of this specialty.
