ELBAnewsLETTER - THE PROMOTION OF THE ISLAND .... is always in our minds
Promoting the image of the Island of Elba in Italy and abroad has always been one of the objectives of the Hoteliers Association. A key issue, the communication, for the development of our tourism over time. Only in the last two years we have invested over 400 thousand euros of resources for interventions in foreign markets.
Today the promotional activity is integrated by the initiatives of the Associated Tourism Management who cares, with excellent results, on many communication activities on behalf of all municipalities of Elba using funds coming from the landing contribution.
When, however, last winter the Associated Management had some moments of operational difficulties, the Hotel Association decided to encourage its interventions. Relevant was, for example, the presence in Poland, Warsaw, with the support of the Embassy of Italian ENIT, to present the Island of Elba at 360 °. In June the first T.O. and Polish journalists were hosted on Elba and after visiting many Elba accommodations closed the first commercial relationships that will lead to an increase in the flow of tourists for next year.
Moreover, in collaboration with the President of the Tuscany Region, the Associated Management and the Chamber of Commerce of Livorno we have already planned the major promotional activities for 2016/2017, including by year end other activities in Switzerland , France and England.
The reason for these countries can be easily explained: Switzerland represents a significant pool of guests that must be cultivated with care.
France and England are realtive new markets to conquer. The ILTM Cannes (in December) for the luxury tourism, WTM London (November) for business to business, the Holiday on Bike in Friedrichshafen in Germany (in September) are the first exhibitions to which will participate in the Association.
These interventions, which certainly need to be followed by sustained efforts over time in order to develop the turnout, will be the focus of other targeted activities of our Association, on which we will keep you informed.
