Great success for PHOTO FOOD … THE FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY MADE IN ELBA!

Three famous chef and one of the most talented photographers of the Island of Elba together for a meeting on how you can study, photograph and enjoy the cuisine.
Last Saturday was held on the Island of Elba, in the picturesque setting of English Forte of Portoferraio - completely renovated - an afternoon exploring one of the most trendy themes: food photography.
Today more and more are the fans of this new art: not only photographers and chefs, but operators, restaurateurs, journalists, bloggers, Instagramers and many others. It even goes so far to Food Porn, a term coined to describe a real obsession with "food to eat with your eyes", which is manifested in the creation or sharing of photographs of the most tasty dishes.
The event, organized by the Tuscan Archipelago National Park in collaboration with the Municipality of Portoferraio, ElbaTaste consortium and Phoft Studio of Alessandro Beneforti, was in fact an experimental laboratory to make everyone understand the secrets to a successful encounter between food and camera.
For the occasion, the event was attended by three well-known chef in Elba and in Tuscany: Massimo Poli of the Restaurant La Taverna dei Poeti in Capoliveri, Mirko Lanari of the Hotel Belmare in Patresi and Umberto Giacomelli of the Osteria Gallo Nero in Capo Sant 'Andrea who made a few dishes in original and creative way.
The workshop, whose participation has far exceeded expectations, was divided into three parts: the first part, the presentation of the main techniques of Food Photography. Next, the "practice" phase in which the chefs have created three different dishes, explaining origin and history. The participants thus had the opportunity to photograph their creations, using some of the tricks mentioned in the theoretical stage. In conclusion, in addition to some delicious tasting, there was the third and final phase: the demonstration of the importance of the post-production of images to get that perfect shot.
Valter Giuliani, president of ELBATASTE Consortium of producers and restaurateurs on Elba ISland, tells us that this meeting - the second organized by ElbaTaste in "Winter in the Park" loop with Info Park and the City of Portoferraio - along with the evenings cycle realized with Vetrina Toscana in Florence in restaurants well known by the title Elba in the Window, aims primarily to raise awareness, and "export" the name and the quality of the kitchen Elba overseas.
The success that these events are having talks to himself ... but it is not an end in itself, but rather aims to inspire you to visit the Island of Elba to experience personally a vacation experience to discover the sea, the beauty of nature and a great culinary tradition.
