Why is ENPA promoting the ELBAforCATS CAMPAIGN?
In 2014–2015, thanks to an agreement between the local health authority and the Order of Veterinarians of the Province of Livorno – promoted by ENPA Isola d'Elba – 600 cats were neutered across the island. There are as many as 310 registered colonies whose numbers need managing, plus an unknown number of unregistered cats that represent a serious problem.
From 2016, for reasons connected with the reorganisation of the regional health service, the agreement is unlikely to be renewed.
A concrete problem that risks UNDOING the efforts made so far. It is necessary to INVEST RESOURCES in order to carry on with this essential health measure.
